📌 This recipe was developed for Zojirushi Stainless Steel Food Jar models SW-EAE35 and SW-EAE50. If you're using a different model, you may need to adjust the quantities slightly.

⚠️ Be careful not to overfill your food jar. Ingredients expand as they cook, and overfilling can prevent the lid from sealing properly — or cause it to pop open due to pressure.

  1. Preheat your Zojirushi food jar

Fill the jar with boiling water (not listed in the ingredients). Close the lid and leave it to preheat while you prepare the other ingredients. This step helps keep your meal hotter for longer.
  2. Prepare the vegetables                                                                         Finely chop the onion. Remove the stems from the shiitake mushrooms and slice them thinly. Cut the snow peas diagonally, and slice the bamboo shoots into small, bite-sized piece s.
  3. Start cooking the quinoa
Rinse the quinoa thoroughly under cold water. In a saucepan, combine the quinoa, chicken broth, curry powder, and ginger powder. Bring to a gentle boil over medium heat, then reduce to low and simmer for 2 minutes.
  4. Fill the food jar
Empty the hot water from your preheated food jar. Carefully pour in the quinoa mixture from step 3, including the liquid. Close the lid securely and set the jar aside — it will continue cooking gently inside.
  5. Cook the vegetables
Heat the sesame oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the prepared vegetables and sauté for about 2 minutes. Stir in the sugar and soy sauce, then continue to cook for another minute until everything is well coated and fragrant.
  6. Fill the food jar with sautéed ingredients from step 5 until 1 cm below the ridge. Close lid, allow ingredients to set for a minimum of 1 hour and up to 6 hours.
  7. Mix well before eating. Enjoy!
  8. Make sure to consume within 6 hours to prevent from spoiling.
